Jenelle Steele

Restorer / Administrator

Jenelle is an artist, cellist, bow and instrument restorer, and maker living in Portland, Oregon. With a B.A. in Studio Art from St. Olaf College and interests in math and music, she pursued a career as a luthier and attended the Violin Making School of America in Salt Lake City, Graduating Cum Laude in 2014. She continued her training at Triangle Strings under renowned restorer Jerry Pasewicz, where she learned some of the industry’s most innovative and proven instrument and bow restoration techniques. She was awarded a Regional Arts and Cultural Council grant in 2019 to study bow making with Tom Goering in Topeka, Kansas, and is currently working for the David Kerr Violin Shop in Portland, Oregon. Jenelle is a member of the V.S.A. and has been a participant and co-administrator for the Oberlin bow restoration workshop since 2015.  She has authored multiple technique articles for Triangle Strings and has been published in Strings, The Scroll, and The Strad.
