Joe Cosgrove was born in the Raleigh area and recently moved back to accept a job at Triangle Strings. He obtained degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and Music Performance from Penn State. He has studied viola performance extensively under his primary university professor Tim Deighton, and Philadelphia based Adriana Linares. In his final years of study at Penn State, Joe acquired a Balmforth viola and was inspired by the craftsmanship of the instrument to enter the field of making. Joe’s passions include attending concerts, performing chamber music, collecting tea, and reading. Moving forward he hopes to maintain a high level of performance and pedagogy while embarking on a new and exciting career path.
