What kind of instruments do you rent?
We rent string instruments: violins, violas and cellos of all sizes. We do not rent basses but have a vast network of clients and colleagues. Please contact us for a bass rental recommendation.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, all rental customers should schedule an appointment via email or over the phone. Find our contact information here
What are the payment terms of the rental contract?
We rent our instruments on either a quarterly or annual payment basis. We do not offer month­ to­ month contracts and rental fees must be paid in advance. Thus, you pay either once every three months (quarterly), or once every year (annually).
How will I know what size instrument to rent?
If you have already started your music lessons, your teacher may have already sized you or your child. If not, one of our staff members will properly measure and size the player during an instrument sizing consultation. The proper size depends on more than just the age of the player.
What do I do when my child needs a bigger size instrument?
You can move to the next size instrument at any time during your rental contract. Simply call or email us ahead of time and we can arrange to have the new instrument ready at the time of your appointment.
I am not from the Triangle area, can you ship me my rental instrument?
Absolutely! However, all shipping costs must be paid for in advance by the renter.
What if my rental instrument needs repair?
Rental insurance will cover all of the following: seasonal maintenance, any repairs from accidental damage, and worn out or broken strings. It also covers broken bows, bow maintenance and repairs as well. Please refer directly to our insurance policy for more information.
What do I do when we want to stop renting?
We require a 3 month minimum rental. However, you can opt out of your rental contract at any time after the first 3 months of rent. If you are on a quarterly contract agreement any unused rent will be refunded to your credit card. Annual contracts are not eligible for refund.


I need to purchase strings or other accessories, how do I do that?
Head on over to our product page and take a look around! Orders will be processed and shipped out within 48 hours of placement.
Do you accept trade-­ins of previously purchased instruments?
To ensure you have the right instrument throughout your playing career we do offer trade-ins. We consider trade­-ins of instruments on the condition that they were purchased from Triangle Strings in the past. Between 50% and 100% trade-in value is offered depending on several factors. Please make an appointment to discuss your specific trade-in.
I am looking for a specific product not listed on your site. Do you carry this product or can you order it for me?
If you are looking for a specific product that is not on our website please contact us here. We will do our best to accommodate your need and either find the product you are looking for or suggest a supplement.
I need to return an item that I purchased from Triangle Strings, how do I do that?
If you are unhappy with any item that you received from Triangle Strings, we would like to hear about it immediately. Please contact us as soon as possible to discuss potential exchanges or returns.
I own an instrument/bow that needs repair or other work done, can you help me with that?
